[No.11] what we see is what we think

-reflection of Simulations p83-92

The concept of this chapter is another mind blowing topic for me. Connecting the stucco wall and Fred Smith's concrete art work with the symbolic part of simulation is quite thoughtful. Every matter we offer are all "only a concession of the demiurge to his visitors" (90). We believe what we think based on what we already know. A statue made with concrete but has fine facial features and figure will be recognize as a symbolic model of human. But what we see is only the surface of the substance, if we don't start thinking and get deeper into the concept and connotation behind it, we could never get anything but one label from this "known" world.

when simulation is being used in education, the idea of meaning is just a concession of the authority to the learner will be a bigger problem since that all where we gain the knowledge from. We are all being programed in a way that our mind set is actually being control by invisible authority, the environment.

"All of the above precedes the productivist rationality of capital, but everything testifies already-- not in production, but in counterfeit to the same project of control and universal hegemony-- to a social scheme where the internal coherence of a system is already at work" (89).

All the public need to see if the well adjusted fine counterfeit,  the people has no need to understand the interior of the counterfeit or its incipience, because all we need is to make the simulation functioning in its own track in order to make positive production.

however, "the counterfeit is working, so far, only on substance and form, not yet on relations or structures" (91). There are some people like Jean Baudrillard whose inner structure cannot be erased, will keep thinking out of the frame and failed to be control under the everything but harmonious hegemony.
