[No.3]Final Project Teaser-The Most Beautiful Thing in the Planet

I decide to make my final project a continuous process of making a animation. The final outcome might not going to be really presenting a full animation short film, but I am going to pretend there will be a animation coming out by showing:

-well done illustration posters (hopefully 5+ pieces)

-full script of the story

-probably some short animation clips (if I end of figuring out how to make it)

Here is the concept of the animation:

Long time in the future, our earth planet is dying and is not capable enough to keep living. The scientists decide to send a robot army to a new planet they discover in the cosmos. The planet called V2Q1, it doesn’t show any sign of oxygen exist but the robot can grow up special types of plants in the soil on that planet. Those robots do not have their own thought, all they do is follow order to plants trees and flowers. However, one day somehow one of the robots start a initiative interaction with another robot partner. After the interaction, all the robots start having their own conscious and gradually enjoying living on the new planet with their hearts.

Fish Tank 912

It has a fish tank head and a body with flower in it. 

It belongs to the robot team which only grow up flowers on the planet.

An interesting idea is all their conversation will be inside a chat bubble with simple icon in it. This is a new way to communicate with each other inside the robot army. The bubble exist in their world and it is visible. (This idea is playing around with the impossible media in conversation of text and image)

 In terms of how this link to the Simulations book, the entire idea of the story is a simulacra, and since Baudrillard says,  "the whole system become weightless, it is no longer anything but a gigantic simulacrum--not unreal, but a simulacrum, never again exchange for what is real, but exchanging in itself, in an uninterrupted circuit without reference or circumference" (11, Baudrillard). The planet is unreal but everything I wrote down and drawn out become reasonable and all living a form in its own way. I believe I give the live to the robots at the moment I start thinking about them. In addition, the discussion of bringing conscious to the robot is also an interesting direction to think about if the life of a programmed robot can be determined as real or only if it has a "heart", it counts as "alive".

Week 3

1. improve the script

-make clear points of what story I want to tell

-find major events that represent the story on poster

2. learn how to draw robot

-find reference picture of robots

-perspective training

3. design characters with more details

-names, color, component of body

Week 4-5

1. learn how to draw landscape

-find reference picture

4. get a sense of animation making on my software

Week 6
1. draw first poster
-to see how long it take to finish a piece
2. probably some animation approaching

A Chinese artist who does a lot of illustration with cute style. She also did a project which only draw posters to pretend there will be an animation. This is also what I want to final project look like.
