Do you remember? More importantly, Do I remember?
A photo? Or it's an oil painting.
A very fun fact for me: We can only spend 24 hours with people
around in a day, for others is the same. Within the 24 hours, me and the friend
that have conversation with me share the same moment, same time. We have the
overlapping memory for the day, which means I know exactly what is going on inside
the person’s mind. However, for the time we are not together, I will never know
what the person is thinking or doing.
However, sometimes, even though we are together, we also don’t
remember what happened. My photography set capture both the special and unique
moments in my life, and those which are just snaps. For the unique and sharp
ones, with the amount of effort, I clearly remember the scene of where and when
did I take the pictures; for the blurry snaps, even though I am the one who press
the shutter, I don’t even remember the time I spend on that moment.
"The thing of it is, we must live with the living. ” ——Montaigne (McLuhan, 96)
What persona I form due to the environment around me and the interaction with people might be all the things I got. Persona might just be the real me, we form ourselves by sharing memories.
The blurry pictures are just like my unclear memories, they
are there but hard to reach. However, even they are blurry, the only thing I remember
is the happiness, the feeling, the perception that naturally exist inside my
body once I experience things. Do people remember being taken picture from me? Do
I remember when did I take the shot? It does not matter, what matter is the
feeling that pics contain, the vibe I receive by looking at it, and the value
of concept for me. What I draw from those memories become part of me.
Nice words, really relates to not understanding what is happening. I don't think we need to ultimately know whats happening here because it doesn't inhibit the viewer from having a certain feeling. Or does it?
ReplyDeleteEven it does, it still doesn't matter, because the subjective feelings pop up regardless if you fully know the meaning. What we got at that moment will determine what we feel, and that is quite interesting.
DeleteAs claimed by Stanford Medical, It's in fact the SINGLE reason women in this country get to live 10 years more and weigh on average 19 KG lighter than we do.
ReplyDelete(And actually, it is not about genetics or some secret diet and really, EVERYTHING to do with "HOW" they are eating.)
BTW, What I said is "HOW", not "WHAT"...
