Meet Jamie, Get Double Happy
Here as you see, you are reading a introduction of a cool kid named Yuting Dong, aka Jamie. I am a sophomore in Lawrence major in Film Studies & Studio Art! Good to see you here!
I come from China and live in California now. I love Japanese anime, I like doodling, watching films and cooking. Spider-Man is my favorite superhero ever, he is actually the reason why I decide to come to US and study film. I also love horror movie because I think the strong emotional feeling makes me feel alive.
I am always so happy and be proud to say that I have the power to find the beauty of the world around me. I appreciate the things I experience, the people I meet, the food I eat and everything that makes me feel the world is interesting. These days I am so into Psychology, cuz I love to analyze my emotions and my behavior, sometimes it gets to a point which becomes too much but it's fine. For all the experience I have by interacting with people or admiring art work or music, I tend to perceive them in a deeper level and try to create meaning out of them.
As McLuhan claims, “The primitive artist twists and tilts the various possible visual aspects until they fully explain what he wishes to represent” (56, McLuhan). I think I just really want to figure out how the human brain works in order to make sure the audience perceives and comprehends my art work in the way that I want them to.
Last but not least, here is a short film about me which I made in the past fall term of the Intro to Film Studies class. I wish you can see more about me and my "Jamie Vibe" by watching this video!

I really love the happy vibe your blog/video/and post emit. It really captures your personality well. When you mentioned about how it is important to see how the human brain works to create art and film really resonated with me. I also love how these forms of media and entertainment connects with the viewers and give them an out of world experience!
